Programme Structure:
Session 1 – Leadership & Emotional Intelligence
This session establishes emotional intelligence as a core leadership capability rather than a “soft skill.” Participants explore how emotions influence behaviour, judgement, and leadership presence, particularly under pressure. Using a self-assessment lens, leaders begin identifying their emotional intelligence strengths and development areas to create a clear foundation for the programme.
Session 2 – Self-Perception: Knowing Yourself as a Leader
Effective leadership begins with accurate self-awareness. This session focuses on how leaders perceive themselves, their confidence, self-regard, and sense of purpose, and how these shape their decisions and leadership style. Participants deepen their understanding of how internal narratives, assumptions, and blind spots influence performance, credibility, and consistency in leadership roles.
Session 3 – Self-Expression: Emotional Self-Expression in Leadership
Leadership requires the ability to express thoughts, emotions, and boundaries clearly and constructively. This session explores how leaders communicate authentically while maintaining professionalism, authority, and emotional control. Participants examine assertiveness, emotional expression, and impulse awareness, strengthening their ability to speak with clarity, confidence, and impact in complex or high-stakes situations.
Session 4 – Interpersonal Skills: Leading Through Relationships
Strong leadership is built on trust, empathy, and effective relationships. This session focuses on how leaders read others, build rapport, and respond to emotional dynamics within teams and stakeholder relationships. Participants develop greater social awareness and empathy, enabling them to strengthen collaboration, manage diverse perspectives, and lead people with greater sensitivity and influence.
Session 5 – Decision-Making: Emotionally Intelligent Judgement
High-quality decision-making depends on balancing logic, values, and emotional insight. This session examines how emotions influence judgement, risk assessment, and problem-solving, particularly in complex or pressured environments. Leaders learn to recognise emotional bias, apply structured decision-making approaches, and make sound, balanced decisions that align with both strategic objectives and organisational values.
Session 6 – Stress Management: Sustaining Leadership Under Pressure
Leadership demands resilience, composure, and the ability to perform consistently under stress. This session focuses on recognising stress patterns, managing emotional load, and maintaining clarity during periods of pressure or change. Participants develop practical strategies to regulate stress responses, protect energy, and sustain effective leadership performance without burnout.
Integration & Application
The programme concludes by supporting participants to integrate emotional intelligence into their day-to-day leadership practice. Leaders reflect on insights gained, identify priority development areas, and commit to practical actions that embed emotionally intelligent behaviours into their leadership routines beyond the programme.
